Acupuncture Santa Cruz of Capitola

Sense of Taste and Smell

The olfactory system and our ability to taste can be damaged through direct injury to the head, viral attacks, autoimmune disorders, and several internal medicine conditions.  I specialize in neurological acupuncture techniques designed to restore these very important senses.  Many of my patients now enjoy these senses, no longer are they stuck with food tasting like cardboard and flowers having no scent.  If you or anyone you know suffers from this loss of sensation – please direct them to my clinic so that they have an opportunity to regain this part of their life.

There are many studies showing the effectiveness of acupuncture for the recovery of the senses from head injuries and other disorders. Research published in the Journal of Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery notes that acupuncture is successful in the treatment of post-viral olfactory dysfunction. The study also notes that acupuncture is more successful than vitamin B therapy for restoring the sense of smell.[1]
